The urethra pessary with knob consists of flexible silicone with a steel spring filling which keeps its elastic form or is available without the steel spring.
This pessary is used to manage stress incontinence or can be used to support a combined incontience with prolapse. A good tone of pelvic floor is needed to retain this pessary.
The pessary might prevent the development of further stress incontinence by the design of the knob on the ring. It supports the bladder neck and supports the urethra.
It can be left in during the night but due to the urethral pressure it is advised to remove daily or every other day to avoid pressure sores.

Contraindications
- Do not use if you have an infection
- Urethral ring with knobs which contain metal and must be removed before a scan.
- Do not use on non compliant patients
- It is possible that the knob feature cannot reach upwards due to insufficient levator muscles or an obstructed vaginal wall. (recommended to change to a cube in this case)
- Endometriosis has been raised as a contraindication of this pessary. Its always best to get the advice of your Dr first.
